Being registered for the Breeders’ Cup is not enough

Breeder's Cup

The pre-registration closed today and the final groups will be announced on Wednesday the 25. All candidates to be part of the stellar cast of the tests on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November at Churchill Downs, will have to save the last filter that allows them to be one of the 14 competitors of the Breeders’ Cup in their different specialties.

The place is earned based on the previous performances in the degree courses, which have different value. Grade 1 races have a value of 10 points for the first place; 6 for the second and 4 for the third, obviously they have less value than what was done in the degree 2 and grade 3 races.

In this context, the two-year specimens must accumulate at least 6 points to be considered as possible contenders, as well as all the steeds that participate outside the United States and Canada border go through the magnifying glass of the experts to obtain their approval, for this is that copies like Enable will enter the final list of the BC Turf without major problems.

The judges take these criteria to announce with great fanfare the final group of each specialty, with a maximum of two horses as eligible in each of the 14 stellar events.

The panorama looks clear in that aspect, since no race is glimpsed with more than the allowed specimens.

The final stretch of the 2018 season is seen at full gallop, much of the championships will be defined with the result of the Breeders’ Cup.

Great stars of the European continent will be present, both horses and centaurs and coaches, to make one of the unforgettable days of this year.
