The Caliente Racetrack

The Caliente Racetrack started operations with the greyhound races in May of 1947, to this day we have races 365 days a year.

Tuesday and Sunday  (3:30 p.m. Pacific Time / 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time)

Caliente Greyhound Track is the perfect school for several competing greyhounds that are formed here and are invited to compete in other greyhound tracks in the American Union, some of the greyhounds who have competed here occupy a place in the hall of fame in Abilene Kansas. Caliente Greyhound Track is a member of the American Greyhound Track Operation Association (AGTOA), an important organization that regulates and endorses the most important greyhound tracks worldwide.

All the greyhounds are imported from the best breeding sites in the USA, which are selected from puppies and registered with the National Greyhound Association (NGA), which grants these future competitors their markings and registration with their family tree. Caliente greyhound track is recognized worldwide and regulated by several Mexican and American associations for its greyhound adoption program since their competition age ends at age 5.


The Caliente greyhound racetrack has facilities to house up to 1,400 greyhounds, today we have 9 Kennels and a population of 900 greyhounds, the owners of the Kennels and greyhounds are of North American origin, and some of these owners already live in the city of Tijuana.

Caliente greyhound races are transmitted nationally and internationally (16 countries) Caliente greyhound racetrack is the only one in Latin America, being an icon in the State of Baja California. Caliente offers an esplanade with seating for up to 5,000 people to see and enjoy the greyhound races in a family environment and most importantly, safety.

The entire operation of the racetrack has the  most current technology. Caliente greyhound racetrack is the creator of greyhound racing with the smallest riders in the world (changuitos). The races are regulated by the Race Department (Judges) within the facilities and supervised by the Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB).
